The Lost Lionesses of 71Publication
A personal project which aims to commemorate the ‘Lost Lionesses’ team from the forgotten women’s World Cup of 1971 in Mexico. I wanted to spread the impressive story of the team and tournament, involving matches with crowds of 100,000, while also highlighting the wider fight for women’s football during the 20th century and what could’ve been.
A short publication which tell the story of the ‘Lost Lionesses’ at this unofficial World Cup using images from the tournament and player recollections of their experience. Followed by advertising for a proposed charity match and re-designed football shirts to spread the names of these teenage trailblazers.
